Claire's - Leopard, swatch and nail art

It is many brands who have used the leopard glitter in their polishes. It's easy to make leo pattern nail art by freehand, but I still needed to try the glitter. It feels like an instant method of "nail art". In the shelfs this polish looks pretty blend, and it wasn't until Lakobotan asked me if this particular polish was in the stores here. Well it was, and had been for a long time, so fail on me. Bought it asap.

Leopard (sadly?) has opalescent shredded flake glitter as well. A combination which is a bit malplaced together  with the matte black leopard glitter. The black glitter needs a light base, and the flakes need something very dark to show. Also I've said it perhaps hundreds of times, I prefer to not have matte glitter combined with shiny glitter, but still I bought this. ;)

So for my first try I decided to make a "black and white gradient", which this time looks more like a dark gray to light gray gradient, to show both the black glitter and the flakies. About Leopard then, I used 2 coats, with much fishing, dabbing and placing resulting in a thick manicure. As you can see at the bottle pics, the leo glitter sinks to the bottom like rocks in water. So, what do you think? :)

NCC presents: Neon gradient and palm tree nail art

Happy Monday guys, here's my second post for the Travelling theme for the Nail Challenge Collaborative this July. This time I'm just keeping it simple and you can just think of any place like this. Palm trees, hot, sunny, sunsets, sand, hot water etc, that was the "place" I was thinking for to this.

I started of with a neon yellow, then added pink and blue to make a gradient. As usual the pink blended with the neon yellow and looks like orange, even though no orange was used. In retrospect I'm not really happy with the blue, it looks too metallic to me and didn't blend as well as the pink. The black I just kept simple and just did the same palm trees in silhouettes on all nails. Hope you likes it! :)

Kleancolor - Almost Good As Gold, swatch

Almost Good As Gold has shredded prismatic gold glitter/flakes in a clear base. Here I've layered it over HM - Capri Breeze and I used 2 dabbing coats, but I actually liked it better after just 1 coat. The flakes are of the "harder" type so 2 coats of top coat could be needed to get a super smooth surface. This is also my contribution to blue monday, the mani is quite blue, even though I'm talking about the flakes. XD

HM - Capri Breeze 

I bought the Kleancolor on Ebay for about 2 euro with a bunch of other of course. :) The HM polish was 3,9 euro in an HM store.

HM - Capri Breeze, swatch

One could say that I learned the hard way that Capri Breeze is more of a layering polish. However, it's perfect for Blue Monday.  Below is 5 coats and in some(most) angles the VNL shows.. In the bottle this looks duochrome with a blue base and teal green shimmer and purple and even light bright pink in the edges. I guess it's duochrome on the nail too but the effect is too weak so the general impression is that it's just a regular aqua shimmer with some depth. Still, it's not that bad and next time I'll layer it over black. :)

Bought at HM for 39SEK (about 4 euro).

Holo gradient funky french in blue

Well, I've been going through my archive and found these oldies from 2013 and it's time to show them. I have showed them with snowflakes on before but I think I liked them more like this. For more blue manicures, check out Blue Monday. The rainbows are subtle but I like this. :) What do you think?

Above is shot in flourecent light and below are the ones in natural light, the holo effect is less visble but still there. :)

NCC presents: black & silver skittelette with dotticure snowflake

Another post in the Nail Challenge Collaborative, this time #dots 3. As it is a skittelette it's a lot of things going on, glitter gradients, needle dragging and some kind of square pattern and the "star" of the nail art; the dotticure snowflake. Not so happy with my ring finger, feels like I could have composed this better.. I really like the snow flake, a simple way to make a cool nail art. Hope you like it anyhow. :)
