It's Throwback...Tuesday (sure, that's a thing), and I've done some more draft digging to bring you this beautiful combo that I call "The Gathering of the Unicorns." It combines Different Dimension's Dueling Unicorns with Clarins 230, which is often affectionately referred to as "Unicorn Pee" because of its rarity.

Dueling Unicorns is already a stunning holographic shade on it's own. Adding Clarins 230 gave it an added dimension: fiery red shimmer that glimmers in the sun.

Clarins 230's red shimmer also shifts to green when angled, which I tried to capture in the photo below.

Dueling Unicorns is still available for purchase from differentdimension.us. Clarins 230 is extremely hard to find (especially at a reasonable price) but there are a number of dupes out there that could be used in its place.

Different Dimension's I Only Have Ice For You is a holographic topcoat with metallic silver flakes. Though it is from the Happy Holly Days collection, it is still available for purchase (yay!). I don't often reach for holographic topcoats, but I found this one to be pretty enticing. The flakes are really pretty.

I layered one coat of this topper over Nicole by OPI This Blue Is So You. Shown first in direct light and second in indirect light (after the jump).

I hope you guys like Halloween nail polish as much as I do, cause I've got quite a few Halloween collections coming up this week. I'm kicking things off with the Different Dimension Silenced the Lambs collection, a set of four polishes inspired by Silence of the Lambs. I've never actually seen the movie (I don't do well with scary movies, so I don't subject myself to them haha), but I can tell you that these polishes are quite lovely and definitely worth looking into!

Good Evening Clarice is a soft, minty green shade. It has a faint holographic sparkle to it and also glows in the dark! It was pretty sheer; I needed four coats for the coverage below. If you apply your polish with a heavier hand you could probably manage with three. It applied evenly and smoothly, and the glow in the dark effect is very strong.

Here it is glowing off for you...

Have the Lambs Stopped Screaming? is a fun Halloween colored glitter topper in a clear base. There are black, orange, and white glitters in a number of shapes (including hearts, stars, and dots), plus holo dust. There is a ton of glitter packed in here and I've shown just one coat over DIOSA Dime Piece.

I Ate His Liver With Some Fava Beans and a Nice Chianti is my favorite of the bunch. This mix has green, purple, and black, including some gorgeous purple stars. I layered it over my old standby, OPI My Vampire is Buff. So pretty, and again, it has a TON of glitter packed in so you get great density with every swipe of the brush.

It Rubs the Lotion On Its Skin is an interesting one, it is billed as a textured polish! It applied evenly and with good opacity; here is two coats shown with its natural matte finish. You can see a little bit of texture from the glitter. It definitely doesn't have the same texture effect as say, the Liquid Sands or the PixieDusts...it's more subtle. Closer to the Nails Inc Leather polishes but still a little different.

Here it is shown with topcoat.

Which ones are your favorite? Do you agree with me about I Ate His Liver...? Overall I think this is a fantastic Halloween collection. I'm know always eager to see what Different Dimension does next and this group certainly didn't disappoint.

I'm pretty sure that there isn't a person alive on this planet who didn't like the movies in the Toy Story series. And if there is, I'm not so sure I want to know! The Toy Story movies are touching, funny, thoughtful, and they appeal to adults and kids alike. Today we're going to take a look at the Different Dimension You've Got a Friend In Me Set, a two-polish duo inspired by the movies.

Reach For the Sky is a polish inspired by everyone's favorite toy cowboy - Woody! I remember when the first movie came out and my dad couldn't stop using "reach for the sky" as his own catchphrase. It's a yellow polish with yellow and red glitters, and it also seems to have some iridescent pieces. I used three coats for this swatch.

To Infinity and Beyond is of course inspired by a sometimes-delusional spaceman, Buzz Lightyear. This clear-based glitter topper is packed with green, purple, and white shades. Here I've shown one coat over OPI You're Such a Budapest. And as an added surprise, much like Buzz...

... IT GLOWS IN THE DARK!

I love the inspiration for this set, and I think Missi totally nailed it. Each polish really reminds me of its character.

These polishes are only available as a set, but you can pick them up in mini or full size versions via the Different Dimension Etsy shop. Hey guys. Just a quick little post today with some random manicures that I've been wearing lately. My posting might be a little sporadic for the next week or so as I play catch up on some work and personal things. I appreciate your patience!

Depend 313. The second I applied this one it skyrocketed into my top 5 favorite polishes. The teal shimmer is VERY prominent and the purple was delightfully deep at three coats. Unfortunately this is an international polish, so it's probably not the easiest thing to get your paws on. A special thanks to miss Smashley Sparkles for including this baby in the swap we did.

Candeo Colors Oceania over OPI Suzi's Hungary Again! Love the combo of the tealy glitters with the salmon base.

Different Dimension Vervain. This is three coats. The white looks more dense in this photo than it does in person... in real life I found it to be delightfully deep and creamy.

HARE Polish Holiday Hoopla sandwiched between layers of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu! This combo reminded me of the topside of peppermint bark.

Pretty and Polished Stay Classic over American Apparel Downtown LA. Downtown LA is my favorite red creme that I own and it looks so beautiful paired with this lovely glitter.

Nails Inc. Whitehall Teal. Magnetic polishes seemed to come and go pretty quickly, but I really enjoyed wearing this the other day. Magnetics just have so much depth to them, and the teal color is gorgeous.

I hope you enjoyed this roundup! I'll try to be back as soon as I can with another post. In the meantime, which of these looks is your favorite?

I love puns.

I can't even lie to you guys. I love puns, and the cornier they are, the more I will probably love them. So I obviously love the names of the polishes in the Different Dimension "Love's a Punny Thing" Collection. I've got swatches for you, and be sure to read to the end of the post for a coupon code!

Up first we have Love Her? I Don't Even Lacquer!. This black and white glitter topper has squares, hexes, microglitters, iridescent sparks, and black and white hearts. Unfortunately, I didn't get any black hearts in my swatch, but I'm confident you guys can imagine them in there! This baby is dense; I've shown one coat over American Apparel Downtown LA.

Next we have one coat of A Love Hue shown over American Apparel Berry. This polish is much sparklier than it looks in my photo. All of the pale pink glitters are also holographic, so they twinkle and flash when you move your hands in the light.

Aorta Miss You But I Don't is a fuchsia and purple heaven! Like "Love Her?...", this polish is very dense. I've shown just one coat over L'Oreal Eiffel For You (also a great pun). Notable glitters in this mix include matte purple hearts, fuchsia circle glitter, and fuchsia holographic hexes.

All Red-y In Love is also lots of fun. This red mix has tons of holographic red hearts, red circle glitter, and red & pink microglitter. I've layered one coat (plus a placed heart or two) over Nicole by OPI Naturally for the ultimate red-and-pink Valentine's look.

I'm never disappointed with the Different Dimension formula, and these were no exception. They all applied wonderfully with very high glitter density. They aren't thick and they don't clump on the nail. They definitely get high marks!

As with most polishes that include shaped glitter, the hearts may sink down to the bottom of the bottle a bit between uses. I'd suggest flipping your polish upside down 5-10 minutes before manicuring to get some of the hearts closer to the brush.

Which ones are you loving the most?

Today's post includes swatches of the new Different Dimension 80's Baby Collection. These polishes are really really cool, if you ask me! They are all neon polishes with a scattered holographic effect; the closest thing I can compare them to are the A England scattered holos but that's not even totally accurate. The biggest reason I love these, though, is that they are NEON scattered holos, and they have really awesome opacity. No layering over white required. Another great thing about these polishes is that the scattered holo pigment adds texture without greying out the base.

I've included two photos for each shade. The first photo is my normal lightbox lighting, while the second photo is direct lamplight (mimicking sunlight).

Ditz is a neon pink shade. This was the first one I tried and I was totally in love. This is just two coats. The formula, as with most of these, is thick but not gummy. I had no troubles with application.

Gnarly is a neon green shade that needed just two coats for opacity.

Homeboy is definitely one of my favorites in the collection. At just two coats, this blue is rich and textured, almost like super bright denim. Gorgeous.

Totally is a yellow-green shade. I actually had a bit of trouble color balancing this one -- in some lights it looks quite yellow and in others it looks more green to my eye. Totally had the trickiest formula for me, needing three coats. It was a little streaky until the third coat, when it evened out.

Tubular is a tangerine orange shade that also needed three coats.

Whatever is also a huge attention grabber. This purple shade has a visual texture similar to Homeboy and was opaque in two coats. Really stunning.

Different Dimension polishes are available on Etsy. All of these are currently in stock; individual polishes retail for $10 or you can buy the full collection for $55. You can also follow the brand on Facebook for news and updates.

Hoo boy you guys, this post is gonna be a doozy (and psst... check out the end of the post for a special coupon code)! We're gonna be looking at the Different Dimension Santa Baby Collection for holiday 2012, plus one extra polish that isn't officially part of the collection but is also out now. The Santa Baby collection polishes are all named using lyrics from the song of the same name. The song was originally by Eartha Kitt but has since been covered by artists like Madonna, RuPaul, and LeAnn Rimes, among others.

Hurry Down the Chimney Tonight is a red and white shredded and bar glitter topper. This is one coat over black. It's really cool looking and a lot of fun. It would look great over a forest green for a holiday party! The red bars have a bit of a reflective curve to them but they do sit flat on the nail.

I'll Wait Up For You Dear is a mix of uniformly sized green and red microglitters in a clear base. I've layered it here over white. A fun choice for those of you who want to wear Christmas glitter but don't want it to be as chunky!

I've Been an Angel All Year is officially a white base polish with a slight blue shimmer, plus blue, white and silver microglitters. While the description says the base is white, it looked kind of like a super light grey on me, and I really liked that about it! It looks like a really lovely granite or something. This is three coats.

I've Been an Awful Good Girl is a girly mix of pink and purple glitters in a light base. The base has a heavy pink flecky shimmer in it, that is very cool and pretty but nearly impossible to photograph properly. This is two coats.

Out of Space Convertible contains pink, purple, and blue holographic microglitters in a black jelly base. It's super sparkly and the black base adds a nice amount of drama. This is probably one of my favorites in this collection and I've shown three coats here.

Santa Baby has red, white, & pale pink glitters boosted by a sprinkling of micro holographic silver. It has a clear base and is shown here over China Glaze Prey Tell. This polish would work really well for Valentine's Day, too!

Sign Your 'X' On the Line is a really neat shredded topper made up of golds and silvers. It's quite luxurious looking and would look great over just about any color (I like it over dark colors best, though)! I've picked China Glaze Ride the Waves for the undies in the photo below.

Think of All the Fellas That I Haven't Kissed is a beautiful mix of purples, teals, and blues . The glitter sizes on this are all fairly small and glide on effortlessly. I've shown one coat here over China Glaze Secret Periwinkle.

PHEW OKAY! So those eight were the Santa Baby Collection. I just have one more to share that isn't a part of that set!

Christmahanakwanzika is a mix of red, green, yellow, blue, and black glitters. The blue glitters are a dark and rich navy, and they can sometimes look black. This polish has so many colors that I've layered it over a neutral white jelly, OPI Don't Touch My Tutu, to keep from taking away from any of them.

In terms of formula, I don't have any complaints with any of these. None of them were thick or clumpy for me, and they all give a nice glitter payoff without making you work too hard. Any favorites for you guys?

The Santa Baby collection is available now in the Different Dimension Etsy shop as individual polishes or a discounted set. As a special treat, Missi has also created a 20% off coupon for Chalkboard Nails readers! Make sure to apply the code "CHALKBOARD20" at checkout (good for the next three weeks)!
