GlitterDaze Easter Explosion Collection

The GlitterDaze Easter Explosion collection is a set of four fun glitter toppers. The set originally came out for spring but I think these glitters are so cute that you could wear them all year round! I really like the variation in these toppers; glitter lovers of all types will find something to enjoy.

Chicky Chicky Boom Boom is my favorite of the bunch. It has a mix of pink, purple, and yellow glitters. This is just one coat -- the glitter is super plentiful. I layered it over Nicole by OPI Alex By the Books to add another dimension of pastel, springy cuteness.

Bombastic Bunny is a shiny, futuristic mix of blue, pink and silver glitters. The pink is a little more pigmented than I was able to capture. I wanted these light glitters to stand out, so I layered one coat of BB over LCN Tokyo Expression.

Dynamite Duckling is an interesting and somewhat faded mix of green, pink, white, and gold. I like the color mix of this one, it's surprising! Again, lots of glitter in this one -- I've shown one coat here. Unfortunately I can't recall what I layered it over... shame on me!

Eggsplosive is packed with pastel and white glitters, plus a little bit of iridescent sparkle. There are a lot of shaped glitters in this one! I've shown it here over Misa Great Grape.

I also had the opportunity to try out the nourishing nail polish remover. This acetone remover has the potency of pure acetone, but without the drying effects and chemical smell. I liked using it -- it definitely does a good job of nourishing my nails and cuticles. The only downside is that the floral smell is really strong. I suspect that it has to be to cover up the smell of the acetone, though. I know I will continue to use it, and will definitely finish the bottle!

It's also really cool for me to see indie brands getting into other manicure-related products besides polish!

GlitterDaze Rainbow Bridge and Browny Bear

The duo of polishes in today's post is a special one. Recently, Sana, the creator of GlitterDaze, unexpectedly lost her dog Browny to cancer. You can read more about what happened in her blog post, if you'd like. She created these polishes in Browny's memory and is donating 100% of their proceeds to the National Canine Cancer Foundation. Not only is the idea wonderful, but the polishes are really beautiful.

Rainbow Bridge is a multicolored glitter topper in a clear base. It is incredibly dense and I've shown one coat over black here. Some of the glitters have a bit of a reflective curl to them but they do lay flat on the nail. It's so colorful and dense, but it's not just rainbow colored -- the glitters seem specifically chosen in jewel tones, so the mix looks very rich. Definitely one of my favorite multicolored toppers that I own.

If you're unfamiliar with the Rainbow Bridge, its a piece of prose that talks about a special place that pets go when they pass away. They wait there until they are able to be reunited with their owners, and the two of them cross the Rainbow Bridge together. Sana has pasted a copy of it in her post as well.

Browny Bear is a mix of pinks, whites, browns, and golds, plus matte pink hearts. This polish was inspired by Browny herself and the love that Sana has for her. I've shown one coat here over OPI Privacy Please. I found the formula easy to use. This polish is a little more subtle than Rainbow Bridge, which makes it a great complement in the set.

I can only imagine how hard it is for Sana to have lost Browny, & I love that she is doing something positive in her memory. I'm sure Browny approves. :)

GlitterDaze Birthday Cupcake (LE Anniversary Polish)

GlitterDaze was one of the first brands that I started working with on this blog. Today I'm happy to congratulate Sana on GlitterDaze's first anniversary!

To celebrate, she's released a limited edition polish called Birthday Cupcake. This polish has a sheer white base, purple shreds, satiny pink glitters, iridescent glitters, and holographic stars. Despite all of these elements, I think that Birthday Cupcake strikes a nice balance between crazy and tasteful. It's a very sweet polish, pun intended!

This swatch shows three coats alone. It can be a little bumpy here or there because of the stars and the shreds, but it was actually much smoother than I expected it to be when I first saw it in the bottle. All in all, well done and adorable!

GlitterDaze Holiday Collection Temperature Sensitive Lacquers

Good morning folks! Today's pose was made using a unique holiday collection from GlitterDaze. The collection is made up of seven polishes that change from a pastel or even sometimes clear shade to a bright jellylike color depending on temperature.

These polishes work best on a light colored base. I chose to use a white jelly and a white creme as my bases for these manicures. The GlitterDaze polishes are most pigmented when your hands are cold, and are either clear or faintly colored when your hands are warm. They also have little darker specks in them, which I assume is due to the ingredient that makes them temperature sensitive.

This first look was done using GlitterDaze Silent Night over OPI Don't Touch My Tutu. I attempted to do a bit of a snowflake pattern! I thought this look was pretty cute but wished that I had been able to achieve a more delicate snowflake. Here they are with cold fingers:

Here is what they looked like after I ran my hands under hot water.

For my second look, I painted some holly with GlitterDaze's Under the Mistletoe (green) and Christmas Kiss (red). The opacity of these two shades over white made me think of faded Christmas wrapping paper, in a nice way! This is my favorite of the two manicures I did.

Here is what they looked like after I ran my hands under hot water. This change was pretty drastic, but rest assured your hands will almost never be as hot as mine were for this photo and will likely allow for a bit more color than this.

I think the fact that these polishes are a winter collection is quite appropriate, because I know in the winter my hands are cold more often than not! They might be less practical in the summer, because the polishes would be warm most of the time and therefore less pigmented.

Overall, I think this is an interesting idea for a collection, and I haven't seen polishes like it this season. I do think that this collection would be more wearable if it changed from one color to another, instead of from clear/pastel to pigmented, but still a novel addition to my collection and fun to impress friends with.
