L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Gold Dust - Sexy In Sequins and Hidden Gems

Being the texture obsessed blogger that I am, when I came across the L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Gold Dust collection in my local Target, I had to pick up a few. They had a lot of metallic looking shades, but the two that caught my eye were both dark bases with glints of color. I purchased Sexy In Sequins and Hidden Gems.

Sexy In Sequins is a darkened base with a purple tint. There are little pops of sparkle in green and gold. It also has larger glitter pieces in it, which were visible but not as prominent as the larger glitters in Hidden Gems. It applied well and covered easily in two coats. The brush is a little moppy when it gets the texture polish on it, so make sure you wipe it off a bit to avoid making a mess during application.

Hidden Gems is a blackened base with teal sparkle. This one has large silver glitters in it that show up nicely as the polish dries down. They are a really wonderful addition to what would have otherwise been a simple polish, and bring a lot of interest to the final effect. I used two coats here.

Overall, I had no issues with these textured shades. The texture felt nice to me; it wasn't too rough but still had that unmistakable textured finish. They applied well, had good opacity, and didn't take too long to dry.

I found these at Target, but they should also available at drugstores and locations that sell L'Oreal products (like Bed, Bath, and Beyonds with beauty sections).

Pastel Petal Skeletons - L'Oreal Versailles Romance Nail Art

Today I have some quick and easy nail art featuring three of the polishes from the L'Oreal Paris Versailles Romance collection. The polishes in the collection are kind of bright-pastels, in that they aren't washed out but are still somewhat soft.

I began with a base of L'Oreal Pistachio Dream, a cool minty green. There is a bit of shimmer to it as well but unfortunately it didn't really translate to the nail. I love this shade and actually wore it alone for a day before adding this nail art on top!

Then, using my nail art brush, I freehanded on the floral outlines with L'Oreal Lacey Lilac. You guys know I have a weakness for this type of purple and Lacey Lilac is a great one. Finally, I used a dotting tool to add some dots using L'Oreal Creme Puffs. They are kind of hard to see in these photos but they showed up nicely in person! Creme Puffs is an off-white bone shade, a color that has been very popular lately (and that I'm totally crazy about!).

I love the simplicity of this floral and the "petal skeletons." The polishes worked nicely for nail art. Much like the last time I used L'Oreal polishes, I found myself wondering why I don't use them more often! These were released a few months ago but you may still be able to find them in your local drugstores.
