Materials
Size I/5.5 mm crochet hook
4 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle
Multiple: 5+5
Work a chain of 20.
Row 1: Work 1 SC in each chain across, (19 single crochet total)
Row 2: Chain 1, this will not count as a stitch, only a step up to the next row. Work 1 SC in each stitch across. (19 single crochet total)
Row 3: Chain 1, this will not count as a stitch, only a step up to the next row. Work 1 DC in the same stitch, Work 1 DC in the next stitch, Skip 2 stitches, work 5 DC in the next stitch, *Skip 4 stitches, work 5 DC in the next stitch. You will repeat from * for the width of the project. To end, skip 2 stitches, work 2 DC in the last 2 stitches.
Row 4-5: Work 1 SC in each stitch across. (19 single crochet total)
Row 6: Chain 1, this will not count as a stitch, only a step up to the next row. Work 1 DC in the same stitch, Work 1 DC in the next stitch, Skip 2 stitches, work 5 DC in the next stitch, *Skip 4 stitches, work 5 DC in the next stitch. You will repeat from * for the width of the project. To end, skip 2 stitches, work 2 DC in the last 2 stitches.
Repeat rows 4-6 for the length.
You can make this pattern all one color or change colors. For a different look, you can work additional single crochet row for a wider band between the shell row. Tinker around with the stitch combination and have fun.
