Love is in the air -- Contrary Polish style! You won't find candy pinks and reds in the Love Lyrics Collection, but instead a gorgeous collection of almost-neutrals. Read on for swatches and review.
Each polish is shown first in indirect light and second in direct light.
Ain't No Sunshine is a beautiful grey blue with silver shimmer and smaller flake pieces. I don't own Illamasqua Raindrops but I feel like I don't need to now! While they are not close enough to be called dupes, I think they are definitely cousins. You can see a comparison from The Polishaholic if you're interested. I would choose the Contrary Polish between the two, personally. Three coats.
Better Together is a dark teal with a lovely aqua shimmer. There is something edgy about this one, though it still retains a refined look, overall. I love it! Three coats.
Feels Like Home is a taupe shade with rose pink shimmer and microglitter. The shimmer came out looking a bit more copper in my photos, sorry! I like the addition of the microglitter to this one, it adds a lot of visual interest. Two coats.
Play Me is a dusty light purple with a green shimmer. This combination of base and shimmer is amazing, and I am always down for a greyed purple. Three coats.
Somebody Loved is a pale pink with a copper shimmer. This is a great option for those of you that wear these types of neutral pinks all the time, but want to spice it up with the addition of the shimmer! Three coats.
The Way I Am is the most unusual in the bunch, I think. It's a creamy, dusty avocado shade with pink shimmer and microglitter. I'm a fan! Three coats.
While I used three coats for many of these, you would probably be able to get away with two. I always like to err on the side of extra coats because the lightbox will show even the tiniest of imperfections!
By now it goes without saying that these all maintain the same excellent Contrary Polish formula that we are all used to! Which ones are your favorites? I've gotta give it up to Ain't No Sunshine.
Full size contrary polishes are available on Llarowe, and through international stockists Femme Fatale Cosmetics and Shoppe Eclecticco. Mini polishes are available through the Contrary Polish blog. You can also keep up with the brand on Facebook.
