August's theme is inspired by jewelery in the Nail Challenge Collaborative. A theme which I've been looking forward too, I really like jeweleries/bijouteries and I like having a nice manicure as well as "jewels" on even though I don't always show them in the photos, I usually take them on after.

My first jewel of choice to be inspired by is a lovely cabochon which my sweet friend Lakobotan made and then gave me with our latest nail swap. The cabochon she gave me is two-sided but I decided to focus on this almost psychedelic black and white water marble side.

Onto the nail art, I'm not the best on water marble, even if I sometime can pull it off. Combined with a lack of time while I did this, I decided to make a needle dragging nail art and I decided for the swirl. I've done a black and white swirl needle dragging nail art before too, but this time I divided the black and white into 4 pieces instead of 2 pieces. I'm really happy for the beautiful jewelery and I think my matching nail art goes well with it, not too literal but still quite matching. :)

I just love yellow, black and white together! They compliment each other so well. I saw something similar at Lucysstash two years ago and knew I wanted to create something similar, but in other colors. I used the gorgeous Butterbeer as a base and then I used white nail polish and then made black stripes with my fine liner. Sadly my black fine liner was a bit dry but I think it came out okay anyhow. Loved this and I'll probably end up recreating it again. :)

Here's my second manicure for the Nail Challenge Collaborative theme this month. We're recreating member designs and I really liked a Leopard manicure which Druid Nails did a while back and decided to give em' a try. I like her version better, maybe my leo spots are too small? Or maybe the "rounded shape" the spots creates on the blue, is too rounded? Also she did her thumb and pinkie with full leo, I didn't. Sadly the holographic silver glitter, didn't look holographic/prismatic in these pictures, so you'll have to imagine.. ;) And as you understand I hurried up fixing this one done for today, it's blue and suitable for Blue Monday! :)

So, because of my computer "problems", the "tea issue", I'm behind on the Nail Challenge Collaborative.. This month it's Recreating member designs in honor of our 3rd Anniversary. I haven't been around for 3 years in the group but scrolling through the different folders with themes have been fun. Since I have a weak spot for  black and white I decided for a mani from the B&W folder for my #1. I decided on a look created by The Polish Playground which she calls Blacken Roses.

Mine is not a dead on exact copy, first of all I don't have a rose pattern to stamp, and I created a bow of my own with rhinestones. However, I think it's clear from what I got inspired by! I made a white base, then freehanded black roses and created a bow with rhinestones and silver metallic beads. I just LOVED wearing this! :D

Polishes used (forgot to take pics, sorry ;))

For this Nail Art Sunday Lela has chosen a fun theme for us to be inspired by; Marimekko. And if not all of you know about them, Marimekko is a finish design company with graphical patterns which can be found in fabrics such as curtains, pillowcases but also porcelain etc.

I googled and found a bunch of pillows which I liked and felt inspired by. The nail art I did ended up being more of a free interpretation rather than an exact copy. I've done dots on most nails and then I've done some needle dragging on some accents nails. I really like the color combo of black, white and yellow together and I like the end result. :)

Let's have a look;

Nordic Cap - NP13

What do you think? Do you like the color combo? Have all my readers heard about Marimekko?

OMG, the bitter sweet moment when the realization hits, this is the last day of the challenge and the prompt is honor nails you love. I'll miss the challenge even though it will be nice to have more free time too. Back to the subject, the theme can be interpreted pretty much however one sees it, I decided for a nail art that I really love (and that I've seen on so many nail art blogs) and for a long time wanted to recreate. I love dandelions, (especially the ones with the seeds flying in the wind) nail art's but also photos and tattoos (wouldn't mind a tattoo with it) The picture I was inspired by (well recreated) is this one, I changed the base color too pastel yellow and do I need to say that I absolutely looooved this and now I'll recreate many more times too.. haha :D

And in matte;
