I don't often find myself wearing a half moon manicure... In fact, this challenge is one of the few times that I actually do half moons during the year! In person, I find that they look kind of strange with my square nails, but then when I look at these pictures, I really like the effect!

I've been doing a lot of colorful and dark manicures for this challenge, so I thought that this would be a nice time to do something a little softer and sweeter.

I began with a base of three coats of OPI Don't Burst My Bubble. This is my favorite of the sheer, jellylike OPI shades, it's so clean and delicate!

After letting the base dry completely, I used hole punch reinforcement stickers to block off the moon areas. If you've never done a half moon manicure with the reinforcements before, you can find some tips in my half moon post from 2011!

Then, I painted some freehand white lace accents using Zoya Purity. I did the three thick stripes first, and then added the small scalloped edges second. This effect was actually SUPER quick for me to do! I think the key is using your most opaque white polish so you don't have to go over the lines twice.

Wouldn't these be great bridal nails? It's not often that I do something that is wedding appropriate but I really enjoy the way this came out!

I definitely need to bring half moons back into my rotation. Maybe wearing them more often will get me used to the way they look with my square nails!
