I mentioned in yesterday's post that the stamper is very important for successful stamping and also in "the important area" (especially for beginners like me) are the polishes you stamp with!
Today I therefore will show swatches of the polishes I got from MoYou. As you might remember the nail art set contained 6 polishes; 1 top coat and 5 special stamping polishes. To really test the polishes I decided to make a white, gray and black base to stamp upon. I also choose 2 patterns to stamp on the nail so that the colors wouldn't be limited by the patterns (and my beginners "skills"). From what I can see it seems like I managed better with the zebra pattern than the floral, but you'll see.
Below each color I've written my comments about each polish. :)
Black: The black color is spot on, it's very opaque and looks sharp over both the gray and white base (especially looking at the zebra pattern which I seem to be better stamping with).
White: The white polish is equally good as the black polish. It's opaque and is super white.
Blue: The blue polish is my favorite amongst the "colors". It's perhaps slightly less opaque than the white and black if you look close at the black-to-gray or gray-to-white "lines". But it's still opaque enough, as you can see it looks really nice on the black. The color is also very bright, much brighter IRL than showing here, especially since I suspect that my gray has blue undertones and therefore "kills" some of the brightness of the blue. But you'll see in my manicures later on how stunning this color is, but now you'll just have to take my word on it. ;)
Pink: This pink color probably has the same opaqueness as the blue one, ie. not as good as the white and black but still more than okay from my perspective. The reason I like the blue one way more then? The pink polish isn't bright, which is something I really prefer when it comes to pink shades.
Red: The red polish is sadly the less opaque polish of the bunch. It's quite opaque still, it looks good on both white and gray, even though the gray shines through making the red appear darker. On the black, the red polish is barely visible, or at least not visible enough. This is a pity because I was really looking forward to black based manicures with striking sharp red stamping on top.
MoYou Top Coat: First of all I want to mention that this is not a fast drying top coat, even though I don't consider it to be slow drying either, it a normal top coat. At first I thought it would react like a normal top coat too, and smudge the stamping by the touch. To my surprise (actually) it takes like 3-5 strokes on the same spot to make it smudge, the same as I experience with Seche Vite. Since I'm so use to Seche Vite I've almost forgotten how "normal" top coats works, but before the top coat has hardened through all the coats of polishes, but still is hard enough the surface feels almost sticky without being ruined by the touch. Strange thing for me, but I guess I'm used to SV. As expected, comparing to SV, the formula is much thinner which would give the impression of a less shiny surface, if the base is bumpy/gritty that is. With SV, having a quite thick formula, smoothen out almost anything.
